Dr. Nelson was born and raised in Sherwood Park, Alberta. After acquiring the necessary credits from the University of Alberta, Dr. Nelson was accepted into the Optometry Program at Nova Southeastern University, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He later attended the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, where he was recruited for externships during his final year of Optometry school. During his time spent at Bascom Palmer, he was exposed to various clinics, such as Neuro-Ophthalmology, Glaucoma, Corneal Disease, Pediatrics, Uveitis, Retinal Care, and Primary Care. In 2016, Dr. Nelson graduated with Honors and Professional Distinction from Nova Southeastern University with a Doctorate of Optometry, as well as his Bachelor of Vision Science.
Dr. Nelson enjoys assisting the Sherwood Park and Edmonton communities in all areas of ocular and visual care. These areas include Vision Therapy, Scleral Contact Lens fittings, Ocular Disease, and Primary Care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Nelson enjoys playing sports such as hockey and baseball, fishing, and spending time with his family.
